Paddle with Silverbirch - ALPS 2019

After attending King of the Alps 2018 and having an amazing experience we spoke with the KOTA team and agreed to become partners and sponsors of the open boat race for 2019.

The Passer is a stunning river, with the marathon section being well suited to open canoe.

We want to help get as many open canoes on the start line this year, so have decided to arrive in the area the week before offering free clinics and guiding to other OC paddlers with the help of our Silverbirch team paddlers. We hope this will encourage you turn make a week of it and where needed offer the right atmosphere to build your paddling so you are happy to enjoy the race.

Boats, Boats, Boats........

Lets face it, our sport is not one of the best when it comes to travelling with all your equipment - especially if you are flying!

To help remove at least part of this burden we will be travelling out from the UK with a fleet of demo and hire boats - allowing you to fly directly into the alps without lugging canoes around with you.

We will be able to offer a limited number of our canoes to hire for the week. These will be charged at £100 for Silverbirch owners and £200 for others.

We will be basing ourselves in the popular Landeck region of Austria for the first four nights (01/06/19 - 05/06/19)

We will meet at Sport Camp Tirol in Austria on 01/06/19 where we have confirmed a large bunk cabin but can get more as needed at a cost of €25.00 per person, per night

On the Wednesday (05/06/19) we will make our way across to the Passer valley in Italy where we will stay for the remainder of the trip.

We are staying in St. Leonhard at Schildhof Happberg. We have again blanket booked accommodation. There are a few room options here at around €25.00 per person, per night

The Passer valley is a truly stunning location, with mile upon mile of easily accessible alpine grade 3-4 water.

Beyond the pushy finals course and gorge sections the bulk of the river is incredibly confidence inspiring and an absolute pleasure to paddle OC.

We are really excited to be supporting the event for 2019, and in addition to sponsoring the canoe categories will be offering guided paddles and clinics on the marathon section in the two days running up to the race.

We are fortunate to have a team of paddlers who know their way around this part of the world better than they know their way around a day at the office......

We will be offering informal coaching and guiding based upon river levels and group experience - more information to follow as we get closer to the start of season.

Paddle with Silverbirch is a wider initiative for us - very much aimed at enabling our Silverbirch customers around the world to travel and experience new rivers and countries with the mimimum of fuss. It is about creating community, learning new skills, and about having fun!
